Barber Shop

Branding & Visual Identity // Brand Strategy // Interior Design // Apparel Design // Social Media and Advertising Design

For Main Street Barber Shop, what began as a small apparel project evolved into a years-long creative partnership that touched nearly every aspect of the business. Working closely with owner Ed Beckett, HMDC helped guide the shop's visual evolution through a comprehensive rebrand that included an expanded apparel program, custom typography system, print collateral, advertising materials, business cards, murals, and environmental design. The relationship grew beyond that of client and designer, becoming a collaborative effort rooted in a shared appreciation for craftsmanship, community, and authentic small-business culture.

As the brand continued to grow, the work expanded into consulting and creative direction for the shop's sister space, The Lounge, helping shape everything from the visual atmosphere to interior details and overall customer experience. Throughout the partnership, the goal was never simply to create a logo or a collection of graphics, but to build a cohesive world around the business, one that reflected the personality of the people behind it and the loyal community that supported it. The result is a brand that feels lived-in, recognizable, and deeply connected to the culture of coastal Maine, proving how thoughtful design can strengthen a business over time when built on trust, collaboration, and shared vision.
